When Norton 360 has hit the market, I had barely any idea of its power and efficiency. Later on hearing the impact and the market that it has made, I turned my eyes to know what actually does this have in it. Upon opening the pack, I am surprised to know the bunch of features that it is offering - ranging from the antivirus to the embedded support; each and every feature is supplemented with world-class services. The key technologies, as the pack told me included antivirus, email scanning, antispyware, antiphishing, identity protection, rootkit detection, network monitoring, web site authentication, firewall protection. Along with these features, it is also offering automatic backup with restore facility in conjunction with a secured storage of 2GB online. Embedded support, automatic updates, PC performance tune-ups along with parental and antispam control are the additional features that came along with the product.

Why is this different from Traditional Antivirus Solutions?

Traditional antivirus solutions aren't of any exception. No doubt, they offer enough protection against the viruses and various forms of the malware. In addition to these, Norton 360 has a state of the art enhanced performance that uses less usage of memory compared to the other competing products. Fast scan, fast browser speed and fast startup time are the additional features of its performance. Expert review Difference between Norton 360 versions: 2.0 vs 3.0

Norton 360 is packed with full protection against all sorts of internet threats. Have your computer running at top performance with PC tune-up and backup utilities. Norton 360 delivers comprehensive protection against viruses, spyware, phising, rootkits and hackers, as well as protecting your computer from dangerous websites that attempt to steal your identity and personal information.

What is the main difference between Norton 360 version 2.0 and 3.0 you ask? Well here is a rundown on a few main ones.

The main structure of Norton 360 2.0 lies within version 3.0 with small subtleties; you are basically getting the same protection with more additional features. Here are the new features that are not present in version 2.0:

Norton 360 version 3.0 runs faster than its predecessor. This means that the current version wont slow your system down, no matter what platform you are running. The botnet auto blocker detects botnets and prevents hackers from taking over your computer. Online safe site detection makes shopping online safer because it automatically detects which websites are secure and which ones pose a threat. It also stores your website logins so you do not have to re-type them in case of key logger viruses. This can prevent your credit card from being stolen online. The new version also has automatic definition updates every 5 to 15 minutes. It also automatically backs up your files so you never lose anything important. Norton 360 version 3.0 also gives you 2GB of online storage for your files.

Expert review Norton 360 common problems

Norton 360 is not perfect; there are a few common problems you might run into. One of the big problems comes with the installation of the Symantec product.

Norton pushes the 15 day trial version first. If you do install that version you may very well run into the problem of "software override." Norton 360 will not allow you to install the full version. Attempting to reinstall the old version will leave your computer thinking the trial is installed.

Other problems one may find with the product are with their pear to pear software; anything like Limewire, Napster and other programs for downloading music or video. Some people also find that the whole system slows down due to clutter.

Another problem is the backup system. Many users claim the software doesn't do a good job of backing up files and folders. A lot of the time Norton 360 freezes. Minor problems are that the tool has a poor configuration and the advanced config settings are not up to par either.

The last crucial common problem for Norton 360 goes for Windows XP users. Something within the Symantec product doesn't fit right with the registry of Microsoft WinXp. The problem causes Norton 360 to crash along with causing the whole system to have severe problems.
